September is recognized as the National Gynecologic Cancer Awareness month. Awareness of gynecologic cancers is expanding in our community. Organizations embrace the cause by hosting a variety of special events.
Northside Hospital kicks of GYN Cancer Awareness month by hanging a huge teal awareness ribbon off their doctors' building facing GA-400. Immediately following the Teal Ribbon Hanging Ceremony, Northside host a reception in honor of those surviving gynecologic cancers.
is helping raise money for ovarian cancer awareness. Dine at a featured HomeGrown restaurant the first 4 Tuesdays in September, and 15% of all dinner sales will be donated to the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance's efforts to increase awareness for early detection of ovarian cancer and ease patients' navigation through their journey. The Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance hosts an annual walk, Overcome Ovarian Cancer. This year the event will be held on Saturday, September 26th at Sanctuary Office Park in Alpharetta.
